"Misleading Listing Led to Wrong Purchase and $200 Restocking Fee"
So here's the deal: I was on the hunt for an AGM Taipan TM15-384 Thermal monocular. Found one at a decent price on PrimeBuy, but turns out it was actually the lower-grade TM15-256 version. Not cool.

The title read "AGM Global Vision 3092851012TA51 Taipan Thermal Imaging Monocular" and there were options for detection ranges of 708m and 458m. The description was super vague. I knew the TM15-384 had a detection range of 708m, so I thought, 'This has to be it.' I had no clue about the TM15-256, which had just come out with a lower resolution. To be fair, PrimeBuy did list the right part number, but I didn’t think to look it up after seeing the detection range. Turns out, both versions had the same range, and I totally missed that "3092851012TA51" was the part number. They’ve since updated the listing with more info, but didn’t admit it was lacking before.

When the item arrived, shipped straight from AGM, I opened the box and realized right away it was the wrong model. I hadn’t even touched it and asked to return it. They sent me to AGM to sort it out. I asked PrimeBuy if I’d get hit with a restocking fee, and they said it depended on the condition when they got it back. I sent it back to AGM, and after a week, I got my refund. But guess what? PrimeBuy kept $200 for a "15% restocking fee." I was like, why so much? They claimed it was because they’d have to sell it as used. That’s just wild since I returned it directly to the manufacturer, and it was still brand new. I checked with AGM, and they confirmed they refunded PrimeBuy 100% of the money.

I was really ticked off about being misled. I shot them another message, saying I’d cover the initial shipping and a $15 handling fee, which seemed fair since all they did was pass my order to the manufacturer. But PrimeBuy insisted, "it’s their policy to charge a restocking fee." So they’re cool with pocketing $200 over a misleading listing, claiming it’s to cover their losses when they didn’t lose a dime. I’ve never seen such a ridiculous policy from an online retailer. I wouldn’t recommend anyone buy from them.

Honestly, I don’t even get why this shop is still around. The price for the TM15-256 was the same as the manufacturer’s MSRP, which is above market price. I could’ve just ordered directly from AGM and avoided all this hassle.

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this has been the worst experience I’ve had with any online retailer.

"Misleading Listing Led to Wrong Purchase and $200 Restocking Fee"
TL; DR: Misleading listing caused me to accidentally order the wrong item, returned the unused product to the manufacturer, and got hit with a $200 restocking fee under the pretense that they’d have to sell it as used.

I was on the hunt for an AGM Taipan TM15-384 Thermal monocular. Found one at a fair price on PrimeBuy, but it turned out to be the lower-grade TM15-256 version instead.

The title read "AGM Global Vision *******012TA51 Taipan Thermal Imaging Monocular" and had options for detection ranges of 708m and 458m. The description was pretty sparse. I knew the TM15-384 had a detection range of 708m, so I thought I was in the clear. The TM15-256 was a new release with lower resolution, and I had no clue it even existed. To be fair, PrimeBuy did list the right part number, but I didn’t think to look it up after seeing the detection range. Turns out, both versions had the same range, and I just didn’t realize that “*******012TA51” was the part number. They’ve since updated the listing to add more details, but they didn’t admit it was lacking before.

Once I got the item, which shipped straight from AGM, I quickly realized it was the wrong model as soon as I opened the box. I didn’t use it at all and asked for a return. They sent me to AGM to handle that. I asked PrimeBuy if I’d be charged a restocking fee, and they said it depended on the condition when they got it back. I sent the product back to AGM, and after a week, I got a refund. But PrimeBuy kept $200 for a "15% restocking fee." I questioned why it was so high, and they claimed it was because "they’d have to sell it as used." This seemed odd since I returned it directly to the manufacturer, and it was still brand new. I checked with AGM, and they confirmed they refunded PrimeBuy the full amount.

I was pretty ticked off about being misled regarding PrimeBuy’s supposed losses. I reached out again, suggesting I’d cover the initial shipping plus $15 for handling, which seemed fair since they just forwarded my order to the manufacturer. But PrimeBuy insisted, "it’s their policy to charge a restocking fee." So, they’re cool with pocketing $200 over a vague listing, claiming it’s to cover their losses when they didn’t lose a dime. I’ve never encountered such a ridiculous policy from an online retailer. I wouldn’t recommend anyone buy from them.

Honestly, I don’t even get why this shop is still around. The price for the TM15-256 was the same as the manufacturer’s MSRP, which is above market price. I could’ve just ordered directly from the manufacturer and avoided all this hassle.

I usually don’t go out of my way to leave negative reviews, but this has been the worst experience I’ve had with any online retailer.

"Completely Happy with My Experience"
I've made three purchases at Prime Buy. Each time, the checkout process was a breeze and the delivery was quick. I didn't need to reach out to their customer service, so I can't comment on how that part operates.

"Positive Experience"
I had a fantastic time shopping at Prime Buy. However, I’d like to share a general overview. The site’s navigation is really easy to use, everything’s laid out nicely, and the prices are pretty decent. That said, the absence of images for some items can be a drawback. I often find myself looking for product pictures on other websites before returning here to make a purchase. It’s a bit of a hassle. Nonetheless, I really enjoy ordering from this seller. Big thanks for the quality of the products and the speedy delivery!

"Quick Delivery"
I purchased a new POS printer from them since my old one was out of commission, and it arrived even sooner than I thought it would. Gotta say, the timing was spot on.
